My Reading Chair came from the idea about personalising furniture, adding different books, magazines etc. to the chair, shows the users interests and hobbies and that will make the chair to an symbol of the user and not just another loungechair.

 

The chair is made from solid oak, and so are the bookshelves that can be added to both sides or in the back. The shelves are mounted to the frame with references to the shakerrail system. You could imagine each shelf holding one kind of literature and the rest is hanging on the wall on a rail. In that way you could organize you books and magazines. The chair becomes part of the surrounding room, brings it together and plays a role in larger concept.
